MICHAEL A. FLIGNER
Professor; Ph.D., Connecticut, 1974. I am working with Steven MacEachern on developing distribution-free procedures in ranked set sampling that maintain their distribution-free property even under imperfect rankings. Under perfect ranking, these new procedures have comparable efficiencies to those developed under this more restrictive setting. Joe Verducci and I are working on local prediction of biological activity of a chemical compound using a bit-string set by the presence or absence of structural features. Finally, joint with the Ohio Division of Wildlife, I am working on estimating changes in animal populations using yearly surveys run on a fixed set of routes. |
