Announcements

  1. The final exam will be given as scheduled on March 12 (Wednesday) from 1:30 PM to 3:18 PM in CH 312.
    It covers chapter 5 through 7 (only those sections discussed in class). Here is a list of topics for your final.
    Again, bring your calculator and TWO letter-sized sheets of notes (you can use both front and back).
    Special office hours will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Monday (March 10) and Tuesday (March 11) in the final week. The graded homework 7 will be ready for pick-up on Monday after 10 AM. Here is a practice final exam with solutions. You may want to ignore questions 2 c and d (i), which are not covered in class.
  2. For Student Evaluation of Instruction (SEI), I am using the electronic (online) version of the form this quarter.
    Please follow the instructions below to provide your feedback on this course. Electronic SEIs will be activated around 5:00 pm on Thursday, 2/21, and the deadline to respond is 5:00 pm on Monday, 3/10.
    Your responses are highly appreciated!

    To access the SEI form,
    * Go to http://www.buckeyelink.osu.edu/.
    * Click on the Course Planning tab near the top of the page.
    * Click on the link titled "Class Schedule."
    * Enter your OSU username and password.
    * Use the drop-down menu to select the CURRENT QUARTER.
    * Click on the button labeled "View Schedule."
    * Click on the button with my name in the "SEI Online" column.
    * Respond to the 10-item questionnaire. The questions are the same as on the paper SEI form.
    * If a text box appears on the page, type your comments about the course.
    * When you are finished, click on the "Submit" button at the bottom of the page.

  3. [Mar 7] Graded HW 6 returned. Solutions to HW 7 have been posted. Note that the residual plots in the solution are not covered in class but given for additional information.

  10. In-class midterm will be given on Feb 11 (Monday). It covers chapter 1 through 4. Bring your calculator and one standard sized sheet (front and back) of notes.
    Special office hours will be held from 10:00 to 11am on the exam date.

MINITAB Info

  1. We will use MINITAB for computing in this course. For those who have not used Minitab before, please read MINITAB tutorial (generously provided by Dr. Peter Craigmile).
  2. OSU has a site license for MINITAB. MINITAB is located in the following labs:
    Agricultural Administration Building 0005, Baker Systems 590, Campbell Hall 119, and Science & Engineering Library 0120.
