Research
My research interests lie in nonparametric function estimation, reproducing kernel Hilbert space methods in particular, classification, and statistical learning. My current research mainly focuses on the development of methods and computational tools for statistical learning from high dimensional data with potentially many irrelevant attributes to a response variable, where feature selection, regularization, and efficient computation are critical in modeling and prediction. I am also interested in theoretical analysis of various statistical/machine learning methods.
