About StatCom
Statistics in the Community (STATCOM) is a volunteer organization inspired by the original STATCOM chapter, which was founded at Purdue University in 2001. Our mission is to serve the community with our statistical expertise. More specifically, the goals of this organization are:
(1) to reach out to the local community by providing statistical advice and expertise to governmental and nonprofit groups
(2) to set up a platform for the graduate students at the Department of Statistics to serve the community with their expertise as volunteers by applying what they have learned from their research and courses
Whom we serve
STATCOM serves governmental and non-profit organizations that have information to collect or data to analyze that would help them in making more informed decisions about their operations.
