THE SSES PROGRAM
Environmental Exposure and Health Data Seminar

The Program in Spatial Statistics and Environmental Sciences (SSES), along with the Divisions of Environmental Health Sciences and Epidemiology in the School of Public Health (SPH) at OSU, are jointly organizing a weekly seminar series on Environmental Exposure and Health Data during Winter Quarter 2007.

The goal of this interdisciplinary seminar series is to promote collaboration between subject-matter experts and statisticians/biostatisticians on issues related to exposure to toxic substances in environmental media and related human health effects. Faculty and students from Statistics, SPH, and other OSU units, as well as researchers from non-OSU institutions/organizations in the Columbus area are welcome to attend. Each seminar will begin with the speaker giving a 20-25 minute presentation introducing the context of his/her research problem and the data collected/analyzed as part of the research. Following each presentation, a discussant will provide a brief (3-5 minutes) reaction to the presentation and then facilitate an open discussion on the issues raised by the speaker.

If you would like further information, please e-mail us at sses@stat.osu.edu. We hope to see you there.
