Discussion Group on Paleoclimate Data and Models, Winter, 2012

The SSES Program is sponsoring a Discussion Group on Paleoclimate Data and Models during Winter Quarter 2012. The format for the discussion group will be a mix of tutorials, discussions of journal articles, and informal presentations of participants' research. Students are encouraged to register for the series for one credit under Stat 693 with Prof. Noel Cressie in the Department of Statistics. Click here for the most recent schedule. The SSES Program hosts occasional Brown Bag Seminars; in Autumn Quarter 2009, these were presented by A. Sengupta (OSU) and L. Zhuang (OSU).

Synchronous Objects Exhibition, Wexner Center, Spring, 2009

In Spring 2009, the Wexner Center for the Arts at OSU curated the exhibition, "Synchronous Objects for One Flat Thing, reproduced." The objects are virtual displays of the modern-dance piece, "One Flat Thing, reproduced," choreographed by William Forsythe. One of the objects, "Statistical Counterpoint," was created by Noel Cressie, Hyowon Ban, Ola Ahlqvist, and the Synchronous Objects team.

The SSES Program is sponsoring a Discussion Group on Space-Time Data and Modeling during Spring Quarter 2009. The format for the discussion group will be a mix of tutorials, discussions of journal articles, and informal presentations of participants' research. The research presentations will be for the most part given by researchers from across campus who will share their space-time data and analyses. Click here for the most recent schedule.
