Research

At present, I am working on Computer Experiments and Optimization, with Dr. Bill Notz.

I have also worked with Dr. Elizabeth A. Stasny on Missing data and Multiple Imputation. In 2006, I presented our work “Childhood Obesity: What’s mother’s marital status got to do with it?” at the Joint Statistical Meetings, 2006 in Seattle, Washington. My travel for this was funded by the Ray Travel Award from The Ohio State University. This paper investigates obesity in children and uses the National Longitudinal Survey of Youth 1979 (NLSY79) data.

I also presented our work (joint with Dr. Sharon L. Sassler, Cornell University) at the Joint Statistical Meetings, 2005, at Minneapolis, Minnesota. Our paper is titled “The Fragile Families and Child Wellbeing Study-Multiple Imputation for the Missing Fathers.” It has been submitted for publication in the proceedings of JSM, 2005. I won two travel awards to present this paper- one was from the American Statistical Association’s Survey Research Methods Section and the other was the Ray Travel Award from The Ohio State University. This paper is based on the Fragile Families and Child Wellbeing Study being conducted by Princeton University’s Center for Research on Child Wellbeing (CRCW) and Columbia University’s Social Indicators Survey Center.

Also, I presented jointly with Dr. Sassler, at the Population Association of America Annual Meeting , March 31- April 2, 2005 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Our paper is titled “Women’s Marital Expectations and Subsequent Union Outcomes in Fragile Families.” It has been submitted to “Demography.” My travel to Pennsylvania was funded by The Ohio State University’s Initiative in Population Research (IPR).
