I, Soma Roy, am a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Statistics, at The Ohio State University, located in Columbus, Ohio,
United States.
I am from India. I was born and raised in the
"Steel City"
of Jamshedpur,
which is a “small city” in the eastern state of Jharkhand. I
attended Sacred Heart School , Jamshedpur
and then got my Bachelor's degree in Statistics from Lady Shri Ram College for Women, New Delhi, India.
I got my first Master’s degree from University of
Delhi, New Delhi,
India. My
second Master’s degree is from OSU.
I was co-president of the student
body of the Statistics department, with fellow graduate student Joe Kupresanin in the academic year 2006-2007.
Joe and I, edited a weekly unofficial Statistics newsletter. It is very aptly
called "Central Moments of Our Lives." Find the existing issues on

I am the Graduate Teaching Fellow (GTF) for
