ABSTRACT
This informal discussion will trace how I became involved in teaching
statistics. I will speak to my initial experiences in teaching statistics
and how those events still frame my teaching today. I will then highlight
some of my guiding thoughts in preparing class materials for all levels of
teaching. Finally, I will speak to the current state of statistical
education at the national level and the needs of the community.
Meet the speaker in Room 212 Cockins Hall at 4:30
p.m. Refreshments will be served.
