About

I am an associate professor in the Department of Statistics at The Ohio State University and have a courtesy appointment in the Department of Materials Science Engineering. I am interested in functional data analysis and inference for dynamical systems models, such as those defined by ordinary and partial differential equations, stochastic differential equations, and other stochastic generative models. Another focus of my research is on using Bayesian models to characterize epistemic uncertainty in numerical methods for differential equations.  My research has been funded by NASA and NSF.

I joined the department in 2014, after finishing my PhD in the Department of Statistics & Actuarial Science at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby (British Columbia, Canada), advised by Dr. David Campbell. This is where I became interested in uncertainty quantification for complex systems. Before that I studied nonparametric smoothing methods, advised by Dr. Natalia Stepanova in the School of Mathematics and Statistics at Carleton University in Ottawa (Ontario, Canada). I have also worked as a researcher for the Government of Canada.
