Registration and Housing Fees

Residents of India and other South Asian countries
(Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Burma, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Srilanka):

Without accomodation - Indian Rs. 600.
With shared accomodation - Indian Rs. 1000.

Residents of other countries

Without accomodation - US $120.
With shared accomodation - US $ 200.

Shared accomodation means accommodation in Institutional Guest Houses in single or double rooms with attached bath, hot water and room heater.

Another Housing Option

Another category for accommodation is also possible in  some Private Guest Houses and hotels where single and double
rooms have been reserved.  These rooms are more comfortable than the rooms in Institutional Guest Houses.  Registration fee
in this category will be the base registration fee of Rs. 600 or US$ 120, whichever is applicable to you, and the actual
cost of accommodation which is the rate per night multiplied by the number of nights of stay.

Rate per Night :

(i) YMCA    Single  @ Rs.800/-      + Service charges @ 10%
     Double  @ Rs. 1350/-    + Sale tax @ 7%
        + Luxury tax @ 10%

(ii) Private Guest House (near IIC)

    Single AC @ USD 35    + Service charges @ 10%
    Double AC @ USD 56    + Sale tax @ 7%
     + Luxury tax @ 10%

Registration form with the requisite fee by Cashier's check/bank draft, payable in favour of IISA - 2000 - 2001 - India - JSM at New Delhi /  Delhi should be sent by August 31, 2000 to Prof. Kanwar Sen.

Payment of registration fees will entitle participants to Conference materials, lunches and tea/coffee at the Conference venue, shared accomodation for four nights (if applicable) at institutional guest houses such as ISI, DU, IASRI etc., and transportation between the venue and the assigned guest house. Breakfast, dinner or transportation to or from the Airport/Railway Stations are not covered by the registration fee.

Accommodation is very tight in Delhi in December.  So early registration or advance personal reservation where you want
to stay is advisable.  The charges tend to be Rs. 2500/- per day per person in star hotels  (* Five star hotels cost around
USD 200 per day; see other housing information below).  We have reserved enough rooms in Institutional and private Guest Houses and YMCA to accommodate all expected participants.  Accommodation will be reserved on the first come first served basis upon the receipt of the registration fee. Preference will be given to those presenting papers. People who have already registered with USD 200 or Rs. 1000/-  will be provided accommodation in Institutional Guest Houses.

The organizing committee regrets that the Registration fee cannot be waived.  It is making efforts to provide partial travel support to a limited number of participants from India.  The details will be available at a later stage.
