Reading List
These are some books I've read that I'd recommend, in no particular
order. (And updated much less than I should.)
I used to do all my pleasure reading in French, but have kind of let
that slide. In any case reading beats TV any day for mental
stimulation.
Harry Potter Series, J K Rowling
Forever Peace, Joe Haldeman
Guns, Germs and Steel: The Fates of Human Societies, Jared Diamond
This was also a mini-series on PBS, which was good.
Genome, Matt Ridley
American Gods, Neil Gaiman
Horatio Hornblower Series, CS Forestter
Timeline, Michael Crichton
Generally Crichton's books are good if you can get past the
anti-technology stance. This one I thought was particularly gripping.
A great airline book, since it sucks you in right away.
Magician, Raymond E. Feist
First in a trilogy, The Riftwar Saga.
The White Mountains, John Christopher
First in a trilogy, good for children, I read it when I was 10.
The Hobbit, JRR Tolkien
Yes, I liked the Trilogy...but this is an enjoyable, easy read.
Catch-22, Joseph Heller
Nine Princes in Amber, Roger Zelazny
First in a series, my opinion is read only the first 5.
