DOUGLAS A. WOLFE
Professor and Chair; Ph.D., Iowa, 1969. Collaborations in the area of ranked-set sampling continue to dominate my research effort. Joint work with Elizabeth Stasny and a graduate student, Haiying Chen, investigates the use of logistic regression in conjunction with ranked set sampling methodology to improve estimation of population proportions. Joint work with Omer Ozturk and a graduate student, Roxana Alexandridis, deals with multi-sample inference for simple-tree alternatives. We are also working with a visitor, Omer Bilgin, on the application of ranked set sample methodology to animal breeding experiments. My work on modeling corrosion in aluminum alloys used in aircraft wings continues with Jerry Frankel in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering and a graduate student, Shiling Ruan. Other collaborative efforts include those with Professor Paul Horn from the University of Cincinnati regarding the use of rank permutation groupings to make inferences in the two-way layout and studies with Angela Dean and Jeff Lehman at Battelle Memorial Institute on nonparametric tests for interaction. |
